University Research and Testing for safety and performance

The Research Agrees

Fastbraces® Technology has undergone university research and testing to ensure safety and optimal performance for patients. Research has confirmed the following key areas:

Teeth Move Easily

University research showed the lowest friction with the Fastbraces® Technology patented braces system.

Fastbraces® brackets have significantly the lowest mean frictional forces by 87% when compared to all other orthodontic brackets in the study.

Ion-Impantation: Effect on Frictional Resistance to Movement by Michael R. LaFerlaUniversity of Southern California, Master's Thesis for Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology, Graduate Orthodontic Department, 1996

It can be confirmed that the non-conventional bracket designs investigated offer increased maneuverability along the guiding arch, a clear-cut reduction in sliding friction.

The force needed to overtake initial resistance to gliding (static friction) with standard brackets (0.018″) is more than ten times greater than when using low friction brackets

Lower Sensitivity

Research has shown “lower sensitivity” and greater “pain reduction” with the bracket system of Fastbraces® Technology.

[This] indicates greater pain reduction with Fastbraces® Technology, with fitting front and back teeth together being at a statistically significant level.

Teeth are Safe

Research has shown that the longer patients wear braces, the more root resorption (tooth root shortening) they have (American Journal of Orthodontics). University research in the same journal showed that Fastbraces® Technology presented “even less root resorption” than the traditional systems tested. This could be due to the fact that it moves the whole tooth in one stage, and therefore patients don’t stay in braces a long time.
